Charter Oaks moves back into first: With the top spot from the Hacienda League for the upcoming playoffs on the line, Charter Oaks’ Julian Rodriguez drove in the winning run with a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Chargers a 3-2 win over Walnut on Thursday.
The win lifted the Chargers into a first place tie in the with the Mustangs with one week left in the season.
The Mustangs (16-9-1, 10-3), who have the tie breaker between the two teams, finish against Chino, while the Chargers have to play a fast-improving West Covina team.

Baldwin Park 14, Workman 0 — Francisco Ruiz, Christian Cruz and Josue Escamilla each had two RBIs for the Braves (11-5, 9-4) in a Montview League game.

Softball
Glendora 1, Bonita 0 — Cambria Keefer was the winning pitcher, striking out eight and Noemi Flores had the game-winning RBI to lead the Tartans (15-4, 4-4) to the Palomares League win.

Girls swimming
Valle Vista League — Rowland’s Katelyn Nguyen won the 100-yard butterfly (57.89 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (52.20) at the Valle Vista League Championship. Nguyen set new league records. Rowland’s Alexis Aguirre won the 200 freestyle (2:07.86) and the 500 freestyle (5:46.95) and Allison Nguyen won the 200 IM (2:14.72) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.54).

Valle Vista League — San Dimas’s Robbie Simpson won the 200 freestyle (1:51.78) to set a new league record at the Valle Vista League Championship. Rowland’s Jason Ku won the 200 IM (2:05.57) and the 100 breaststroke (1:04.22), and San Dimas’s James Hull won the 50 freestyle (22.16) and the 100 freestyle (49.04).

Boys golf
Hacienda League Finals — The top six finishers of the day advanced to the Hacienda League CIF Individuals tournament. Walnut’s Alrik Pan led the way at 211, earning league MVP honors. Walnut’s Rani Abdou shot 221, Diamond Ranch’s Raynard Belmonte shot 227, and Walnut’s Brandon Yates shot 235, Adrain Edarlin shot 236 and Nathan Wu shot 242.
