A San Gabriel Mission High School athletic director, who fled with a 15-year-old student, has been found in Nevada.
Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Rosario Herrera said police arrested 36-year-old Juan Ivan Barajas in Henderson, Nevada, on Tuesday.
The Pico Rivera teen was found safe with Barajas, Herrera said.
“She was placed in a shelter awaiting pickup by her mother,” Herrera said.LAPD officials said the pair fled July 29 after the girl’s family members found out about the relationship, but Herrera would not give details on when the alleged relationship started or how it was discovered.
The LAPD on Tuesday issued a plea to the public to find the pair and included a description of a car they may be using — a 2001 four-door black Lexus GS 300.A Henderson police officer saw the black Lexus parked on the side of 1500 block of East Galleria Drive at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Henderson police spokeswoman Michelle French.
