Monday’s PrepXtra Rewind: What does La Mirada’s big win and Bishop Amat’s crushing loss mean?

Aram Tolegian and Fred Robledo will discuss the big stories from Friday’s games in 15 minutes of fun on Monday’s Prep Xtra Rewind. This week we discuss what La Mirada’s big win over Orange Lutheran and Bishop Amat’s big loss to Mater Dei mean to the programs.

One of the best highlight compilations is from SoCal Prep Legends host Tarak Fattal, who recaps the best of the best from the Southland on Flashback Monday. Watch Charter Oak-Northview highlights at the 4:00 minute mark and look for plays that make the SCPL Top 10 and are eligible for plays of the week.

La Mirada about to experience the highs and lows all within 7 days…SJB by 40+

I’d say more in the 14-20 range…OLu lost to Bosco, 31-12 last year, so…

      • Spam Burger

        At halftime maybe.

        • Steve Ramirez

Yes…based on LM’s win over OLu, which was ranked No. 14 by MaxPreps going into the game. On paper, LM should be within 20 points or so of SJB…but it depends on how the game unfolds. On the other hand, LM was really pumped up for OL, and it showed. Question is can they bring that enthusiasm to the table for the second week in a row. But on paper, this is a 20-25 point game and CalPreps has it that way, 41-17 Bosco.

If La Mirada stays within ,I’ll buy you a Loco Burrito.

What about the burger combo from Rick’s? 🙂

          • Spam Burger

Done. And that should have said within 20.

It’s not to late to backout.

SJB will beat them by a score similar to last years(10 TDs I believe) O Lu is only the 4th or 5th best team in the Trinity

      • AMAT73

I hope you’re not basing those numbers on LM’s win over OLU last week . SJB easily by 35 or more .

So does no one notice that Sierra Canyon is listed as 2-0. The season officially started on the 26th. Their “first game” was on the 19th. Whomever is doing these rankings for CIF needs to do some checking before hitting submit.

Sierra Canyon is 2-0, so is Edison. SC has 2 weeks off between their 8 & 9 games.

      • Editor of the “Editor”

Doesn’t matter. CIF has an official start date. Can’t start before then.

        • Spam Burger

You do know that CIF will give exemptions to teams that are playing out of state right? You do realize that CIF knows they played on the 19th, seeing how they had to approve their travel outside the state to play. If you are so sure there are violations, report them.

Did I miss something? Why is Charter Oak in Div 4 and Los Altos in Div 6 when both are in the Hacienda League? I know they are making a bunch of changes but curious as to what Div xx means

    • FredJ

What league you’re in has no bearing on what division you’re placed on. That’s the new CIF. You’re placed in a division based on your previous two years.

      • LA Dad

So if CO and LA both make the playoffs, they could play in different brackets? If NOT, what does the bracket system do?
