TRIBUNE SUPER 32 FOOTBALL RANKINGS
1. Los Altos (1-0) – Dominated defending Central champ San Marino 38-6 and Tyler Nevens showed he’s a next-level talent with four touchdowns.
2. Charter Oak (1-0) – Chargers answered their question at QB with Bret Clemetson throwing a schoool-record six touchdowns in a big win over Northview.
3. Bishop Amat (0-1) – Mater Dei made Bishop Amat look like a Division 3 or 4 team, but Mater Dei is going to do that to a lot of teams this year. Jury still out in terms of just how far the fall from last year’s semifinal team is.
4. Damien (1-0) – Spartans dominated a Chino team that was good last year, winning 21-6. It’s been a while since Spartans fans could be excited about their team. Is this year the one?
5. Glendora (1-0) – Question was how they would do without all-everything Matt Fink? Tartans QB Bryce Wooldridge answered that with a nice display of running and passing in 33-19 win over Kaiser.
6. San Dimas (1-0) — Saints ended three-year losing streak to Bonita with an eye-opening 42-14 win over the Bearcats.
7. Northview (0-1) — Vikings not ready for a team like Charter Oak, but QB Steven Comstock and Antwaun Ayers are going to lead to a lot of victories.
8. Diamond Ranch (1-0) — Didn’t show a lot of firepower in 14-7 with over South Hills, but always good to show you can play defense well enough to win when offense is struggling.
9. West Covina (0-1) — Bulldogs struggled in season-opening loss to Colony and it won’t get any easier hosting St. Francis next.
10. Baldwin Park (1-0) — Braves opened with easy 27-0 shutout over Workman, but schedule will get tougher.
The Rest: 11. South Hills (0-1), 12. Nogales (1-0), 13. Rowland (1-0), 14. Arroyo (0-0-1); 15. Covina (0-0-1); 16. Bonita (0-1); 17. South El Monte (1-0), 18. Mountain View (1-0), 19.
