West Covina 3-peats South Hills: Anthony Ramiro might be short in stature, but he sure stood big in the battle of the Kings of Cameron on Saturday night at Covina District Field.
The West Covina High School senior is 5-foot-5 and 145 pounds. But the wide receiver and slotback sure wiggled around and ran over South Hills giants. He ran over a would-be tackler for a touchdown and came up big on sweeps out of the slotback position to get the Bulldogs their first win of the season, a 35-8 victory over host South Hills.
West Covina took claim to the King of Cameron Avenue trophy, presented by the West Covina City Council, after the game. It was the Bulldogs’ third consecutive victory against their down-the-street neighbors.
