olmosProfile on Los Altos QB Kody Olmos: There was one question on everybody’s mind about the Los Altos High School football team entering the season.Nobody doubted the Conquerors had the line play, running back and defense to win a championship, but what about the quarterback? Kody Olmos answered those questions emphatically at what, thus far, has been the biggest moment of his team’s season.
Last week, with Los Altos needing to throw in order to get past Long Beach Wilson and advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship game, Olmos fired a 18-yard touchdown pass to Khayman King on the game’s final play to turn what looked like a 28-24 loss into a 30-28 win.

camachoProfile on Arroyo quarterback Ernesto Camacho: Ernesto Camacho knew he would play quarterback this season at Arroyo High School. It’s just that he never imagined it would be for the varsity team.Camacho, a sophomore, had mentally prepared himself to be the junior varsity team quarterback and wait his turn until next season for a shot to play under the lights.
Instead, Camacho has turned out to be a major reason why Arroyo hosts the CIF Southern Section Division 12 championship game against Rancho Mirage on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
“I’ve surprised myself, I didn’t think I’d succeed this much,” Camacho said. “I thought I was going to be on JV. I started working harder and I just took advantage of the opportunity.”
