Mountain View snaps Gabrielino’s 45-game league win streak: All streaks are meant to be broken and the Mountain View High School boys basketball was all too happy to put Gabrielino’s long string of Mission Valley League victories to an end on Wednesday.
The Vikings rode their pressure defense and 18 points from Bryan Ramos to a 62-47 win. Not only did the win put a momentary halt to Gabrielino’s 45-game dominance of the league, but it also moved the Vikings into sole control of first place.
Bonita wakes up to defeat Glendora: The Bonita High School boys basketball team made up for a slow start with a furious finish to the first half as it cruised past Glendora 61-42 in Palomares League action on Wednesday night at Glenndora.
The Bearcats (13-4, 3-0) seemed to be in hibernation mode at the start of the game as they trailed 9-3 midway through the first quarter. They quickly woke up however, to finish the quarter on a 10-2 run to grab a 13-11 lead.
San Dimas 68, Northview 49 — Ronny Rafeh had 19 points and five rebounds, Abbas Darwiche scored 11 points and had seven rebounds and four assists and Eli Jackson had nine points for the Saints (12-7, 3-0) in a Valle Vista League victory. Justin Argueta had 17 points for the Vikings (6-11, 0-3).
Rowland 84, Baldwin Park 50 — Curtis Hong had 19 points and Jarbas Faria had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (12-7, 2-1) in a Valle Vista League win. Also for Rowland, Phillip Aguiniga had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and Ethan Galang had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Walnut 71, West Covina 58 — Eli Ramos had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Agassi Goantara had 22 points and seven rebounds for the Mustangs (13-6, 2-1) in a Hacienda League victory. Also for Walnut, Ryan Dai had eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Dane Johannsen had seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Charter Oak 58, Diamond Ranch 41 — Micheal Miller Jr. had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers (3-15, 0-3) in a Hacienda League loss.
Los Altos 99, Chino 69 — Jarod Lucas scored 24 points, Jordan Ramirez and Cameron Martin each had 15 points and Bryant Howing had 11 points for the Conquerors (15-3, 3-0) in a Hacienda League win. Also for Los Altos, Matt Arellano had 10 points.
Bishop Amat 87, Bell-Jeff 54 — Gjerard Wilson had 28 points, Ismael Arellano had 15 points and Jonathan Aguirre had 14 points for the Lancers (16-3, 3-0) in a Camino Real League victory.

Duarte 67, Sierra Vista 45 — Ryley Thompson had 24 points and Patricia Morris had 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Falcons (17-4, 3-0) in a Montview League victory.
Bonita 40, Glendora 36 — Alex Lowden had 14 points for the Tartans (17-3, 2-1) in a Palomares League loss.
Covina 60, Wilson 35 — Kendra Ukita had 16 points and four rebounds and Parvene Barimani had 10 points for the Wildcats in a Valle Vista League loss.
Edgewood 34, Garey 33 — Michelle Jiminez had six points and Ashley Fernandez and Lailoni Wood each had four points for the Vikings (4-11, 0-3) in a Miramonte League loss Tuesday.
Girls soccer
South Hills 1, Bonita 0 — Madison Warren scored with an assist from Sage Robledo for the Huskies (8-7-1, 2-2) in a Palomares League victory. Goalie Amanda Vallado had a shutout.
Gladstone 3, Azusa 2 — Ivette Ayala, Diana Roman and Daniela Mendez each scored a goal for the Gladiators (5-5-2, 1-2) in a Montview League match.
Nogales 5, Workman 0 — Jacky Gonzalez, Zerlina Gonzalez, Emily Velasquez, Alyssa Gutierrez and Miranda Cervantes each scored a goal for the Nobles (9-3-2, 2-0) in a Valle Vista League victory. Rene Avila and Cervantes each had two assists.
Charter Oak 3, Diamond Ranch 2 — Maggie Brown scored twice and Bria Salazar scored a goal and had an assist for the Chargers (10-4-1, 1-2) in a Hacienda League victory.

Bonita 12, Los Altos 6 — Junior Amanda Legaspi scored five goals for the Bearcats (12-1, 3-0) in a nonleague win Tuesday.
Webb 8, San Dimas 3 — Chandler Luebbers scored three goals and Emily Chu scored twice for the Gauls (12-4), who won their Valle Vista League opener Tuesday.
