All Encompassing boys basketball rankings: Los Altos edges Damien and Pasadena for top spot

The inaugural all-encompassing boys basketball rankings that includes teams from the Whittier Daily News, Pasadena Star-News and San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

1. Los Altos (13-2) — Played way into top team over the Holidays with clutch performance in winning the Gold Division with a victory over Eastvale Roosevelt. Also crushed Maranatha.
2. Damien (14-2) – Has been solid, but knocked off perch with first round loss in Platinum Division of own tournament.
3. Pasadena (8-6) — Understand that it’s played a tough schedule, but Bulldogs should be better than this.
4. Cantwell Sacred Heart (14-3) – Played Sierra Canyon tough in 87-81 loss, and also has loss to Pasadena.
5. Walnut (13-3) – Won Glendora and Covina tournament titles and opens Hacienda with No. 1 Los Altos on Wednesday.
6. Muir (9-5) — Could be a serious contender in playoffs, but curious how it will do against Crescenta Valley and PHS in Pacific League.
7. St. Paul (13-3) – Losses to tough teams in JW North, St. John Bosco and St. Anthony.
8. Bishop Amat (13-3) — Solid start for the Lancers though the schedule has been easy.
9. Diamond Ranch (12-3) — The Panthers make the Hacienda extremely tough along with Los Altos and Walnut.
10. La Salle (11-5) – Edged out Blair, Keppel, La Habra for final spot
