The magic ends for the Bishop Amat boys basketball team Posted on March 3, 2018 by Fred Robledo The magic ran out for the Bishop Amat boys basketball team on Friday night.Making its first appearance in a CIF Southern Section championship game in 15 years, the Lancers (26-6) were defeated by Riverside Notre Dame 51-46 in the Division 3A title game at Azusa Pacific University. It was a historic victory for the Titans (29-3) as it marked the first time in the history of the program that it won a sectional championship. “It feels like the weight is off my shoulders,” Notre Dame coach Robert Robinson said of his team that won their 21st consecutive game. “I am so excited for the kids, this group worked as hard as any group you can imagine. They worked 365 days a year and took no days off.
