Family-friendly porn
Funny little example of the exigencies of journalism in today's print edition of the Daily News. Thursday's feature section is devoted to family and kid entertainment, and contains a little pullout section called Kids Daily News.
Unfortunately, network schedules don't always play along with the Thursday family conceit. So let me walk you through today's U section:
Page 6-A and 6-B: Kids Daily News. Cute drawing of a guy holding a shoe on a bucking horse (which may or may not be explained in the story, a serialized bit of fiction).
Page 8-9: Big story on Family-Friendly TV.
Page: 10: My review of "My Bare Lady," Fox Reality's new series debuting tonight featuring porn stars.
Page 10-A and 10-B: The rest of Kids Daily News. Stuff on dinosaurs and kids' thoughts on celebrating Christmas.
Perhaps the idea was to transform the paper into a print version of the "Sesame Street" game "Which of these things just doesn't belong here?"...
David Kronke was appointed Mayor of Television after a bloodless coup in 2000. Since then, he has improved infrastructure, championed greater educational opportunities and fought for reforms that have utterly erased corruption and incompetence from the television industry. Since Mr. Kronke has ascended to power, Television is a far better place.

This is freakin' hilarious! I can just imagine all the hover-parents who are kvetching about this.
