DAVID KRONKE

david-kronke.jpgDavid Kronke was appointed Mayor of Television after a bloodless coup in 2000. Since then, he has improved infrastructure, championed greater educational opportunities and fought for reforms that have utterly erased corruption and incompetence from the television industry. Since Mr. Kronke has ascended to power, Television is a far better place.

“Amas de Casa Desesperadas”

As ABC has cadged the concept of a telenovela for a TV show (see “Ugly Betty”), now it’s returning the favor: Univision today announced it’s borrowing “Desperate Housewives” concept and turning it into a Spanish-language telenovela, “Amas de Casa Desesperadas,” which will be shot in Argentina.

Wisteria Lane gets renamed Calle Manzanares. Susan Mayer gets renamed Susana Martinez, an obvious enough change. Mary Alice Young will be called Alicia Arizmendi. Lynette Scavo, meet your Latina doppelganger, Leonor Guerrero. Bree Van de Kamp, you’re now Regina Sotomayor. Edie Britt = Roxana Guzman.

Gabriela Solis doesn’t get a name makeover.
