Colbert campaign, we hardly knew ye

Well, this is a slap in the face: Stephen Colbert's Presidential campaign ground to a halt when South Carolina's Democratic party rejected his bid to be included on the state's ballot. Let's recap: Colbert is not "Presidential enough," but Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich are.

"He's really trying to use South Carolina Democrats as suckers so he can further a comedy routine," Waring Howe, a spectacularly humorless member of the executive council, bitched. Yeah, so? What do you think Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo are doing for the Republican Party?

On a roll, Howe added that Colbert "serves to detract from the serious candidates on the ballot." Honestly: If he detracts from certain candidates, just how serious are they, anyway?

Wonder how they're taking all this at Team Colbert. And which state will they set their crosshairs on next?

Hey, Colbert can come to Florida any time he wants! Apparently, all the other candidates are too pansy-ass to appear.

I'll even let him stay with me!
