Question: "What is 'Mad Men?'"

Cast members of "Mad Men" will show up on Friday's episode of "Jeopardy!" to present clues for a special "MM"-related category. This seems like an idea that Duck might cook up; Don, not so much.

Additionally, "Jeopardy!"'s website has a special "Mad Men" game with categories and clues about the era the show depicts. Roger would have a nice withering joke about this.

(Now that "Mad Men" is the toast of the town, Don's gone all Hollywood on us.)

Moreoever, Brooks Brothers is throwing an invitation-only "Mad Men" party next Monday, in honor of the following Sunday's season finale, and on Tuesday, an invite-only fundraiser benefiting The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter's educational and professional development programs will recreate the Rat-Pack-style lounge shows of the era. Some of the show's co-stars will be on hand.

David Carbonara, the series' composer, explains: "Since fans always say the show makes them want a cocktail, I thought the perfect way to quench that 'Mad Men' thirst would be to do a live, musical show featuring our actors and celebrating not just the music but the culture of the time. In the early 1960s these kind of shows were very popular; Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason and, of course, the Rat Pack loved to combine musical numbers with easy going banter and comedy - so why not bring back that format for all of us who watch the show and want to step into it for a night?"

Coming soon, no doubt - "Mad Men" Scotch and cigarettes, with the slogan: Be irresponsible responsibly.

This is all well and good, and I wish them continued success, many martinis and multiple stars on the Walk of Fame.

But, I have a pressing question (or three) re: last Sunday's episode. What year is it? Duck went in to talk about a raise with Roger and said he had been there for two years. If that's true, then we're up to...1963? '64?

Oh, Mr. Mayor, I'm confused. Why haven't Don's children aged? Why would Don have the current phone number of a person who knew him as Dick Whitman in an address book that he apparently carries around with him at all times? What's up with the Eurotrash? Perhaps I'm investing a bit too much thought into a TV show.

In response to your question, "What is 'Mad Men'?":

The answer is: A delicious addiction.
