"Crusoe" stranded by viewers; another "Daily Show" defection to CBS; "Mad Men" gets season three
We previously lamented Jason Jones and Samantha Bee's defection from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" to an upcoming CBS sitcom, and now Rob Riggle says he's heading to CBS to create and star in a sitcom. But his show doesn't even have a plot yet: "I've got a notebook full of ideas that I've been keeping for many years," he tells Variety, adding of the network that has given us "Worst Week," "Rules of Engagement" and "Gary Unmarried," "They've got some good sensibilities over there."
In other news, AMC will be bringing back "Mad Men" for a third season. But but but - series creator Matthew Weiner hasn't signed a deal to stay with Lionsgate, the company that produces the show. Maybe they'll bring in the guys who do "Knight Rider" to take over the show.

Oh, and that tree house stunt in Manhattan took like a house afire, as NBC's "Crusoe's" two-hour premiere yielded an average of 7.26 million viewers, which isn't that bad for a Friday night, but it really tanked in the viewers aged 18-49 demographic, meaning it's too old-timey a show to get the youngsters interested because, you know, it's based on what they call a "book."

David Kronke was appointed Mayor of Television after a bloodless coup in 2000. Since then, he has improved infrastructure, championed greater educational opportunities and fought for reforms that have utterly erased corruption and incompetence from the television industry. Since Mr. Kronke has ascended to power, Television is a far better place.
