Tight position
J.J. Hair went down with a pulled calf muscle in practice this morning, leaving UCLA will three tight ends heading into Saturday's scrimmage. Bruins coach Karl Dorrell said he didn't expect Ryan Moya (hamstring) or Tyler Holland (hamstring) to play, which leaves Logan Paulsen, Adam Heater, Scott Glicksberg, who was moved from offensive line early in training camp, and walk-on Travis Martin.
So get ready for a lot of one-tight sets and some tired bodies at the end of today's 100-play scrimmage.
As for a few other quick updates, defensive tackle Kevin Brown said he hopes to return late next week from his right ankle sprain and Brigham Harwell practiced.

Brian: I think your work is excellent. I was at the morning session today. Did Stephens (FB) also go down with a knee injury? Thanks

I hope you are right about Kevin Brown...In my mind he is the most important player on the team, in terms of wins and losses. I believe he is more important than Ben Olson.

Stevens has been banged up all training camp. He is yet to practice, and who knows when (or if) he will be ready to return. All he does is do some conditioning before the start of each practice.
