Olson update
This is from UCLA:
Quarterback Ben Olson underwent an MRI on Monday and it shows a tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. The injury does not require surgery and he will be sidelined approximately four to six weeks

I see this as bad news. We need Ben to gain more game time experience and it sounds like we will be lucky to see him play anymore this season. That was a very cheap shot that he took and I hope that punk Stoops loses the rest of his games. I think that he had his players gunning for Olson and some of our other players. Hopefully Cowan can pull out some W's for us this season.

This was honestly the worst possible time for that injury to happen. Pat looked good, so lets hope he performs well and the defense continues their strong play. We can steal some of these road games.
Any word on Christian Taylor?

Mr Dohn did you feel that the hit was a cheap shot?

Yes, I thought it was dirty.

Wow Brian,
Even people on the Bruin internet boards were trying to excuse the hit. Did you see or hear something that didn't come through on the telecast?
Thanks...

It wasn't anything different I saw on the telecast, just that it was a very, very late hit to the lower part of Olson's knee. Ignorance on where the football is does not excuse the defender from making a late hit, and this was so late I deem it dirty,

Those folks now agree it was dirty, having seen the photgraphic evidence (pass is well on its way, cheap shot defender is 4 yards away).

I thought it was dirty based on the fact it was an extremely late hit. I know Parker said he didn't know Olson already threw the ball, but ignorance to what is taking place on the field is no excuse. It was a very late, low hit, and that is dirty in my book.

I think Mike Stoops encouraged his players to "hit after the whistle" and take the borderline shots. Going for a QB's knees is a clear intent to take that player out of the game. Not only do I echo the sentiment of hoping Stoops loses all remaining games, but also that the Pac 10 disciplines him and the player. There is no room for that type of garbage in football
