Two FB things
I would have posted early, but I was away from my computer for a bit. Anyway, the Bruins added another to their recruiting class when Verbum Dei High defensive end Justin Edison gave an oral commitment. I spoke to one of the assistant coaches at Verbum Dei, and he was glowing about Edison's potential.
Also, the Bruins made a change to their 2008 football schedule. San Diego State backed out of a game because it was already playing a tough schedule, so the Bruins added Fresno State. UCLA will host Fresno State on Aug. 30, 2008, in the season opener for both schools.

I heard that our coaches tried to get Donova Warren to committ when they had an in-home, and when he didn't they dropped him and offered Edison. Two days later Warren choses MICHIGAN. Could we have landed him if we had held out for a few more days, if so, big mistake by the Bruin coaches.

Nope. The coaches asked Warren a few days ago to make a decision, and Warren said he was choosing between USC and Michigan. That allowed UCLA to move on Edison. There was no way Warren was going to take UCLA, even if the Bruins waited until signing day.

What's the latest on the O-line coaching search? Candidates, interviews, timelines?
