Wright to Oklahoma
Forward Ryan Wright plans to transfer from UCLA to Oklahoma, Sooners coach Jeff Capel told the Associated Press on Tuesday.
Wright averaged 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in his two-year career with the Bruins. He must sit out this upcoming season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Best of luck to Ryan -- a really smart and articulate kid.

Please note: The purpose of a blog is not to only post things available on your newspaper website. It is to provide context, opinion, and additional information not found in the newspaper itself.
Can the daily news please hire someone who cares about UCLA sports and is interested in running a blog to do this, or else just get rid of it?
This blog is a joke compared to the effort Scott Wolf puts into his.

There’s 95 days till kickoff and we are being supplied with scraps of boring info pertaining to the upcoming football season. We want the inside scoop. Injures, arrests, parking violations, parents being supplied a house and cash from agents, athletes walking away from car accidents.
Coach is on his last leg, how about some in depth info about his final season with the Bruins. If this new offense sputters like last season, will Karl step in early and get involved or wait it out and blame the performance on the new guy again. On the other hand lets say the Bruins run the table and Karl’s courted by the NFL, What does he do?
How about asking Dan G point blank, what his tolerance level will be for one more season of mediocrity. Will averaging 48,000 fans at the Rose Bowl be enough to not make any rash decision?

Sheesh guys, lighten up. Were you even paying attention to the loads of sharp inside info Brian supplied in month's past on:
The stellar 08 signing day in March
The Final Four coverage "from the street" in Atlanta
Limogate indictment against $C with Brian Price
The hiring and back story on Eric Scott
and on and on.
A blog is a "web log," meaning that it's as strong as the sum of its parts: Unlike a newspaper article, it is dynamic and its strength is measured by the interaction of its posters. That's you and me. We are the Bruin community--anyone can tear it down; why not build it up?
Oh, and best wishes to Ryan Wright, a great kid with a solid head on his shoulders.
