A few more answers
A few more questions came in, so here are the answers:
In your opinion, why does KD stay so married to the WCO? And even making it more complicated this season (from what I have read). It seems that is a receipe for disaster. The QB's have already said the terminology is more complicated. These are kids. Why give them something it takes an NFL QB a few seasons to understand. This is KD's year and I fear b/c of this WCO that our offense will be horrible and we will not win even 7 games. Then KD will be gone.
All I can say is that is the offense Dorrell believes in. Your sentiments for it being too complicated for college kids is a very popular one. In four seasons, the offense has been good once, when Drew Olson became king of the comeback. it's a legitimate question, and the answer, I believe, will lie in the length of time Dorrell is the coach at UCLA.
Why does it always seem like our O Line is just not very good (both in run and pass blocking)?
Not sure why, other than UCLA is not getting the mean, tough kids to play in the trenches. I'm sure it doesn't help UCLA is on its fourth offensive line coach in five seasons under Dorrell. One year they are blocking with finesse, the next year they are told to be overpowering. Philosophies keep changing, and that cannot be good.
Is there any way Chris Sailor will be hired by UCLA as a coach? And why hasn't there been a player like him who does both since (except for Nate Fikse)?
I'm not sure Chris Sailor would want to coach. I never asked him, but he does run a very successful kicking academy in which many of the top kickers in the country attend. I would think being your own boss and not having to recruit (and kiss up to) high schoolers is a better alternative, but that's just me. As for the combo kicker, many of the kickers don't like to do it because the kicking motion is different, and it could hurt in their area of expertise.
