Answers, Part III
Thanks, again, for all the questions. Here are the last batch of responses.
Rumors are circulating that E Scott was suspended by CIF for the 2006 and possibly repremanded by LAUSD due to his involvement in the post shaw/dorsey game mele in 2005 meeting. Any Truth to the Rumors?
It’s the weekend, so hard to find out. I will check Monday.
With the 7 x7's you have seen, which recievers seem to be standing out right now? And do you think Brandon B. will red shirt?
When I saw Osaar Rasshan, he jumped out at me because of his size and hands. Brandon Breazell looked very good, and quick. I guessing that’s who you mean since Brandon Bennett already red-shirted. But there is no plan to red-shirt Breazell.
I've read a lot of material from so-called experts that think the Wear twins should not be offered UCLA scholarships. What are your impressions from the coaching staff on these two players? And have they been officially offered scholarships by UCLA?
I’ve only seen them a couple of times, but I was moderately impressed with them. As far as what the coaches say, I cannot share that information because that’s a violation. However, I will say that UCLA will be tracking them.
What is the real deal with this whole Jackson wanting to play for UCLA? I can not imagine that UCLA would not offer him, assuming he had the academics to get in.
He did not have the necessary GPA in core classes UCLA requires, and that is why UCLA did not offer him. There has always been a lot of talk about this issue because Jackson had a 1280 on his SATs, but what I am told by folks I trust is Jackson’s core GPA, when it came to classes UCLA requires, was poor.
I asked this one of your Scott threads but just in case you missed it:
1. Did Scott lie on his application to UCLA about his misdemeanor convictions, as it appears he did based on your reports?? If so, why has he not been dismissed??
2. What did Dorrell know about Scott's arrests and convictions and when did he know it?? Dorrell said he knew something about Scott's prior incidents, so if he did was Dorrell involved in any way in Scott's deception in the application process in order to get Scott hired??
First, I don’t know if he lied in his application. My guess is he did not because most job applications ask if a person has been convicted of a felony, and he was not. His are misdemeanors.
Second, I believe Dorrell found out about Scott’s prior arrests when a reporter called the school to ask for a comment about it.
i read where the locker rooms were upgraded at the rosebowl, was that by ucla or city of pasadena? also what improvents where done?
It was done by the Rose Bowl as part of the agreement of the contract UCLA and the Rose Bowl signed a few years ago. It’s a basic upgrade of the locker room in every aspect. It was nothing more than a glorified high school locker room in the past.
what is your pre-game ritual for home games? do you eat all the free grub? i hear sportwriters eat like slobs...
You mean the free grub being hot dogs and potato chips that is available in the Rose Bowl. Now, I usually bring something from home, something healthy. As far as sportswriters eating like slobs, some do, some don’t. I’ll say this; it is not easy running marathons when you eat like a slob, so guess where I fit in?

UCLA's online job application, link below, specifically asks if the applicant has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor. A screenshot of the portion of the online application that asks that question is available the BruinsNation.com link below. Clearly, whether Eric Scott lied on his application is a question that needs to be asked. Because if he did he should be fired. And if he did, why hasn't he been fired yet?? Could you ask Morgan Center on Monday?

Where has it been written/said that he was ever "convicted" of anything?

Interesting screenshot though it may not be relevant here because it doesn't appear that the jobs in the athletic dept are filled out online.
I searched through the employment area for UCLA at the supplied link and not a single job for a position within the Athletic Dept is listed among the 9 pages available.
I did another search for key words "athletic dept" or under the subject heading "Organization" or subject heading "Job Title" and nothing remotely related to the Athletic Dept is to be found unless you want to be a "___Assistant II" which could be anything except something in the AD.
And I just can't see DeWayne Walker applying for a position of defensive coordinator online and spending 3 hours to do it. Can you imagine?
What I find most interesting of all is that none of this is pointed out by DumpDorrel or whomever wrote the article in bruinsnation but it doesn't stop the writer from going on and on about CEOs and what did he know etc.
The question about Scott's application process is meaningful. The link to the screenshot or the article, not so much.

uclatic ... are you joking? It has been reported basically since the report of his latest felony arrest for burglary came out. Every major news outlet that covered this story, and it went national, reported on his 4 prior arrests and 2 convictions, for which he served many months of probation.

Brian
I confirmed with UCLA Human Resources Dept this morning that Eric Scott was required to fill out an application to be hired as a coach, and that application did ask if he had ever been convicted of a misdemeanor. You or anyone can verify by calling HR themselves.
Here is a post on the details:
