Playing the 3

When I spoke to UCLA coach Ben Howland last week, he said there was a possibility power forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute would play significant minutes at small forward. That will be possible because of the arrival of Kevin Love, which could also send Alfred Aboya to power forward for more minutes.
Of course, for Mbah a Moute to be successful at small forward, he will have to prove he can consistently make mid-range jump shots, and be some type of threat from 3-point range.

I remember reading that Luc shot approximately 50% from 3-point range at his high school in Florida. Granted, he hasn't looked anything like a consistent outside shooter since he got to UCLA, but I wonder if he can recapture some of what he apparently once had. I think his body type has changed and he has probably lost his touch and range.

His HS coach projected him as a point guard at the college level.
