Bosworth's move
DE Chinonso Anyanwu, who was backing up Bruce Davis, is out with a sprained ankle, but even if he was healthy, he would have dropped on the depth chart because of the play of converted linebacker Korey Bosworth.
I asked Bruins coach Karl Dorrell about Bosworth's play today, and he said "Korey's been very good, has had an excellent camp. Right now he's playing behind Bruce Davis. He's done a tremendous job, and his brother, Kyle, (a linebacker) has had a very good camp. Those two guys are warranted to get some playing time through the course of a game.''

Brian, wondering if you could answer this question. Where are reggie stokes and jekk miller right now in terms of the depth chart. I thought miller would come in and make an immediate impact at DE, but apparently the coaches have moved him to DT?? Is that permanent?? Alos, just wanted to check on stokes and his place as well.

What's going on with Kenneth Lombard. He looked promising a year ago as a backup on the entire DL. But then I heard in that he was moving to fullback, but he doesn't seem to be getting any reps there. I assumed he was staying at DE, but now it looks like everyone is passing him up?

Brian -
Does Karl really talk like that or do you just type in shorthand? I don't recall ever hearing or reading quotes from another coach with his halting rhythm and nonsensical jibberish spewing from his mouth. That last sentence in the quote mis-uses the word "warranted" - yes, I know what it means and what he's trying to say - it just sounds awkward.
Note to all Dorrell haters/lovers, this has nothing to do with his coaching - just an observation of his speech.

I use a tape recorder, and my quotes are ALWAYS accurate. I've never had someone complain I misquoted them.

You want jibberish? Ever play the Pete Carroll drinking game? Drink a beer everytime Carroll says "stuff" during a postgame interview or news conference. I would recommend buying the 36 pack and a soft pillow.

Trey -
You could also drink every time Pete says "you know" since he sprinkles that in every few words. Though it works a little better for him since he shows a lot of emotion when he speaks and he has a trohpy case full of new shiny hardware in his office.
Would the same game work every time the camera shows Karl with a blank look on his face & play sheet shoved in his pants? You wouldn't make it past the first quarter.
Brian - I wasn't questioning your quotation integrity. I know all too well that this is Karl speaking. You couldn't make up some of the stuff that comes from his mouth.

You want to discuss facial expressions? Cool. My favorite was Carroll's during last year's Husky game when SC squeaked it out at the end. The refs couldn't decide to get the game clock started and Carroll was going bonkers.
Carroll must have had some Vince Young flashbacks because it looked like SC was going to choke one away. Carroll took the gum out of his mouth and chucked it onto the field. Must have gone some 15, 20 yards. Hilarious! PC was going berzerk. He looked like he was going to cry. Too bad it's not on YouTube. I would love to see it over.
Great to see emotion like that. Carroll wasn't even a tenth emotional when SC lost to UCLA.
