If you missed it...

This is something I wrote about Reggie Dunn for today's paper, but it wasn't included in the web content portion of the paper. So here it is:

Verbum Dei High product Reggie Dunn, a receiver who signed with Oregon State but was academically ineligible, watched practice, and he brought a plan with him to enroll at UCLA in 17 months.
Dunn, who is recovering from left shoulder surgery, will attend El Camino College, but not play football this fall. He will play in 2008 and get his associate’s degree, with the hope of enrolling at UCLA in January 2009 with three years of eligibility remaining.
“I’ll come here if I get a scholarship offer, or I’ll head up to Oregon State,’’ Dunn said. “Coach Dorrell told me to keep him updated, and make sure I get good grades. If I do that, I’ll be here.’’

I think this is great news as our recieving corps is going to become much more explosive in the coming years. Whether or not Kevan Walker plays reciever we still have four recievers coming in this class (assuming they all keep their commitment and sign with us). Reggie Dunn is very good in the open-field and is extremely quick. I wish he could come in 08' but i'm sure ucla will take him gladly whenever they can considering his grade situation. I'm looking forward to watching the recieving corps become one of the strengths of the team as it once was under toledo and donahue.

Dunn is an exciting player. If he can get his grades in order, he will really help this team.
