One quick thing
It's been a week since I went to the open blog format of every response going live immediately. For the most part, it has been positive, but there has been some bickering back and forth, and that's not the atmosphere I want on my blog. Yes, the blog has my name at the top, so I can dictate what is on it.
Therefore, any post that I deem to be ripping another poster will be deleted, no questions asked. If the banter is toward the program, that's fine. If not, it is getting deleted. I will not have this blog turn into a cesspool that is not enjoyable for the majority of the readers.

Do I understand correctly that Dwayne Walker will stay past this year? Some boards say that you believe that to be the case that DW has turned down big $$$ to stay at UCLA.

Speaking of DW, Do you think Arizona could go after him? I wonder if they might be scared to hire another Defensive minded Head Coach.

I would think that Walker will stick around since he's in the driver's seat to take over for Dorrell. This can occur if Dorrell continues to have trouble or if he suddenly finds success.

If his kid is going to UCLA then I'm guessing that he would like to stick around for the next 4 years....

Thank You!!!

DW will take the right HC job when it comes along, if it is UCLA, or another program. And even if Kevan is at UCLA, he will leave if it is right for him. He has been quite honest that he sees himself in the college game, not so much the pros, and he wants, at some point, to run his own show. I hear he'd love to replace KD if that opportunity presented itself, but more importantly, he will weigh opportunities that come to him. If one feels right for him and his family, I am sure he will take it.

Thank you Brian. I enjoy your blog and find it very informative.

"Asked and answered." would be the response. A reporter is not in a position to demand the answer you want.

Question though:
If someone makes a point but another poster then counters that argument, will that be deemed "ripping" another poster? Stupid arguments deserve to be ripped....errrr....countered.

Great to know the recruits, players, coaches, athletic dept and administration is fair game.

PH55,
It is fine to make a counterpoint. There is just no need to make it personal against the other poster.

BruinBobby: "I would think that Walker will stick around since he's in the driver's seat to take over for Dorrell."
"Driver's seat"?? Walker has 1 year experience as a DC, during which his defense helped lose 6 GAMES (getting blown out by FSU?!, Wazzu at home!, Cal, losing to ND on idiotic play calling on national television, etc. etc.) ... oh, and Walker has all of 0 head coaching experience, and somehow he is in the "driver's seat?" Any wonder why UCLA football has been stuck in mediocrity for so long?? "Fans" that think like that. If Dorrell gets fired or leaves, hiring Walker would get us more of the effing same. There are EXPERIENCED WINNING head coaches out there, WHY must some "fans" accept mediocrity?

EricB -
Walker has all of the qualifications that Dorrell had prior to being hired as head coach - with the bonus that he acutally shows emotion. There are no EXPERIENCED WINNING coaches that will come to Westwood with the salary the admin is willing to pay. A million bucks is about 20-25% of what coaches at USC, Florida, Notre Dame, TX, etc make - and they have a winning tradition (well, all but ND lately). Therefore Walker is in play for the HC gig.

I appreciate that Brian....I just wanted to make sure it was ok to argue, especially since my points are often counter to many here....By the way, I truly enjoy your blog (though I am SC fan) and like it better regulated.....There are some other blogs on insidesocal.com where there is a lot of critical comments.
