Startin' the week
UCLA is out on the field for the morning practice, and the one thing I saw that stuck out was FB Trevor Theriot is not dressed. Theriot has been running with the first unit much of the spring because Michael Pitre is dealing with a sore knee. Now, Theriot and Pitre are both sitting out practice, which means Dylan Rush should get plenty of reps today. Walk-on Chad Moline is also dressed and should get some reps.
Backup DE Chinonso Anyanwu is in a walking boot and not practicing. I will find out what his ailment is after practice.
Two things I'm hearing is UCLA is close offering Eden Prairie (Minn.) High product Willie Mobley, a defensive tackle with several Big Ten offers. Mobley was at UCLA over the weekend, and from what I understand spoke with the coaching staff and things went well. Sources are telling me that if UCLA offers Mobley, they believe he will commit.
Also, I spoke with Fresno Edison High defensive backs coach Tony Perry. I'm hearing UCLA could be ready to get heavily involved with Arizona commit Robert Golden, a cornerback who is very interested in UCLA.

Whoa, a little curve ball to start a Monday. I have not heard his name mentioned in the same brath as UCLA in a long time..I know he wanted a UCLA offer badly, however upon visiting U of A he was enamored and became a Cat. Would love to see the Fresno pipeline continue to Westwood. A Secondary of Woods, Golden, Moore and Dye. Are you kidding, oh Brian please keep us updated!

Hey Brian,
Interesting news about Mobley and Golden. But what is your absolute best guess and take as to where we are getting these scholies?
Are any of these greyshirt candidates? Or have you heard rumbles about a couple of scholie players "leaving the program?"

Bruinchamp, don't forget about hester i think he has better upside than dye at the college level. I do think dye will be very solid as well but if this 08' class comes in and plays right away think about it: verner, norris, viney, hester, dye, golden, and at safety moore and woods!! In the future when moore and woods are starting at S and hester/dye and golden/dye at corner..WOW!! That is the best secondary in the nation barr none. Even if we dont get golden the four we have now would be ridiculous!!

Thanks guys, I wrote that and I knew I was going to get hasseled for not adding Hester. I agree with both of you, Hester is off the charts in potential and the corp of talent coming in has the rest of the nation on notice. Thank you for picking up my slack.
