Wednesday's tidbits
UCLA donned shoulder pads for the first time, and it was an active end to the practice with several pushing matches between the offense and the defense.
"A spirited workout, which is ok,'' UCLA coach Karl Dorrell said.
Among the other notable things at practice was the kicking of Kai Forbath, who looked good kicking field goals, and the play of converted QB Osaar Rasshan, who did drop a few passes but continues to impress overall with his pass catching and route-running.
DT Brian Price remains out with a clearinghouse issue, and RB Raymond Carter was waiting for the MRI results to be read on his injured knee.
