PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Depth chart

The depth chart is out and the only changes are where the injured players are out. P.J. Irvin is listed as the starting left guard because of Shannon Tevaga's knee injury, and Kyle Bosworth is listed at strong side linebacker because of Aaron Whittington's concussion.
Rodney Van is listed ahead of Alterraun Verner at right cornerback, but Verner played much of the game against Utah.
But remember, this is Monday, and given the way UCLA played, more changes could come during the week.

I have a question. It seems like our oline and dline was blow away by their line. I thought both our lines on paper was way better. What happened??

Thanks, Brian. Out of curiousity, who do you think should be demoted? The guys really let CKD down on Saturday, and I would think he needs to send a strong message that he won't be put in that position again.

Brian,

Three questions, which I see as being related:

(1) When is Pitre coming back, we are missing him?;

(2) Why aren't we throwing to Markey more?;

(3) Why aren't we throwing short outs to the TE's?;

It seems that all of these could help Olson.

Thanks.

Paulson drops quite a few passes. And until he can get those 5-7 yarders, the TE option won't work...
