Feelin' the burn
How hot and sunny was it at Stanford Stadium? After the game Bruins QB Ben Olson was dealing with a sun-burned face.
I joked with him about needing to put some sun tan lotion on before the game, and he said he did, "but it rubbed off when I was taking my helmet on and off.''

Brian,
Just wondering if you can deliver a quick thank you. If not, it’s there for all the other Bruin Fans.
Thanks to Coach Dorrell for taking the time to send a UCLA cap from SF. We received the cap at the Colorado State / Colorado game. You made a long time Bruin fan, who literally grew up as a child at the Rose Bowl watching the Bruins battle the Michigan’s, Nebraska’s, and SC in the 80’s, a very proud fan.
Rachel who delivered the cap says you’re everything everyone already knows, a top-shelf class act.
Thanks
A fan forever,
Cari

I hope it cools off next week at the Rose Bowl.
Did you like the offensive play calling?(on a scale of 1 to 10, I give the entire game an 8.6)

Brian,
Do you know of any other Pac 10 venue that gives visitors free parking? Granted, it was on the intramural fields without shade where all Bruin tailgaters incinerated in the Palo Alto heat...but to not even charge a small $5 fee? I guess they're happy that people were even bothering to show up. Hope you were able to enjoy the AC in the Stanford press box.

i brought plenty of water to the game but no sun tan lotion, and now i have the worst sun burn in my life. i wore my basketball jersey so i have a farmers tan; i wore sun glasses so now i have a racoon style sun burn on my face, and i wore a hat backwards so now have my forehead that was exposed to the sun is red, and the other half is white

Brian, enjoyed the game. Some improvement obviously
on both sides of the ball needs correcting, but all in all the first game jitters is understandable. The most obvious improvement I noticed was the poise and concentration of the offense which minimized penalties that killed their drives so many times last year.

Also want to add another obvious improvement...getting the plays in on time. Can't remember a single instance in which this was a problem. Not bad for a first game.
Coach Norvell can't be complimented enough. I loved seeing him on the sidelines. He has the look of a very intense individual. His playcalling and the performance of the offense was a breath of fresh air.
