PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Great to see 4 Pac-10 teams in there along with 2 others just out of the top 25. BTW Brian, I forget if you have a vote............if so, can you share your ballot with us?

I vote in the Harris poll, which is used in the BCS formula. One of the things I really like about the Harris poll is voting is not done until the end of the first month of the season, so there are no preconceived biases in it (or, at least, that is the idea). When it comes time to vote, I will post my selections.

Great.............thanks!

Why did Louisville get a top ten pass after their terrible performance against a low level team? Wisconsin,Cal and Ohio St. didn’t fair much better in their games. BYU was a much more formable opponent.
