PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Foricer's take

UCLA freshman QB Chris Forcier said he is prepared to scrap his red-shirt season if asked to.
"If they burn the red-shirt, if that's in the best interest of myself and the team ..we're going to need a quarterback and someone is going to have to play,'' he said. "It's up to the coaches. It's not my decision."

Brian, great job with all the Q&A.

Did UCLA practice yesterday (Sunday) and are they back to their regular schedule this week?

Also if Longshore is out, do you change your no chance prediction if Cowan starts on Saturday?

Thanks

Brian,

I also am curious if this past Saturday's events (in Strawberry Canyon) have impacted your earlier proclamation that next Saturday's game against against Cal is absolutely unwinnable for UCLA.
