PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Brandon Breazell made the game-changing play against Oregon State on a screen pass he turned into a 69-yard touchdown to give UCLA a 19-14 lead over Oregon State. He's emerged as the Bruins go-to guy. He's not saying, ``Give me the damn ball,'' but who would blame him if he did?
``I don't know about extra ways (to get him the ball), but we want to make sure he gets opportunities in the game to make some plays because he's been able to do that,'' Karl Dorrell said. So has Dominique Johnson. Both those guys are starting to step up. And Dominque, you can tell in practice he's gaining confidence day by day.

Give him the damn ball.

I'm content with those 2 yard screen passes! Anything over 2 yards and less than 50 yards, I'm not sure Ben could deliver!

Good job today Jill!!!

is Chris Markey available for us?
