Some Davis chatter
Bruce Davis gave some bulletin board material to Notre Dame...or did he when he had this to say about Notre Dame's offensive line on Wednesday:
``Jimmy Clausen is one of the better true freshman quarterbacks I've seen the whole time I've been here. Unfortunately, his O-line is just falling apart. They can't block a soul. That's going to hurt your team. That's going to hurt your offense. That's going to get you to 0-5."
Ouch!
So why might Charlie Weis not use this material? Well, this is probably nothing the Irish hasn't heard all year anyway, perhaps even said about itself.
Davis was smiling - as always - when he talked about meeting Clausen - the Oaks Christian product - for the first time. You know he'll be talking, but he said what he'll say isn't suitable for print.
"He's a good kid, a good quarterback,'' Davis said. ``But I haven't met a freshman that I wasn't able to get inside their head yet. You should expect the first play of the game, whether it's run, pass, whatever it is, you'll see me in his face. I'm just going to give him a friendly hello and let him know that it's going to be a long day for him.
"That part of it will be taken care of early. Our defense is going to get there."

That does it! Fire Karl Dorrell!

Davis. Talking about other team´s players and units prior to a game is, beyond classless, stupid. You´ve just assured yourself no sacks for Saturday instead of one or two. You are now a marked man. PLEAS. SHUT UP.

I remember back in the 80's Ken Norton Jr telling the media the only good thing about SC is their band. He went on and had a monster game.....

Claussen should be better than your average true frosh, the kid is 20 yrs old.

Teams have doubled up on Davis alot this year, I'm sure the Irish will do the same since our other end is in question. Davis has an ego, drives him, but yes, lots of his comments tend to be arrogant.
Does anyone know why Dorrell didn't take on Norton Jr. when he offerred himself to us? He's clearly a good LB coach and recruiter for the Trojans. I read that Norton Jr. attended Dorrell's introductory press conference and offerred his services that day, but Dorrell told him "thanks, but we're going in a different direction". So far it's not up, more like a roller-coaster :)

the absolute WORST thing about SC is their band.

"only good thing is their band?" sc has the worst 3 note band in the universe!
After the BRUIN offense does their usual 3 and out for about 12 to 15 series... I wonder how much energy BD will have left to trash talk?

i love it, with the NFL being so bland... bring on that emotion that only college players can bring out!
you haters go back and sit on the couch and watch it...

Like any sport, emotions and attitude account for a lot (if thats what he's bringing to the game...I'm loving it). If you don't like it, read the political and not the sports blogs. You'll get all the political correctness you want.

I don't know who has said that Norton is a good coach. I have heard the opposite. He is a coach in training. Plus, he has lost several recruiting battles to EScott so far.

I think Ken is a traitor, KD offered him a job as a grad assistant when he was approached. Ken was miffed and headed over to SC only to get the same offer. He took their offer because his pride was hurt. He is a great cheerleader but I think we have better teachers. Have you seen Ken tape his fingers up before he coaches a game? What a loser, reminds me of that softball guy that charts his batting average and gets in shouting matches with the ump....

the only good thing about SC is the cheerleaders

Someone should tell Jill that Bruce Davis is a defensive end, not an LB.

Davis is pure UCLA.
And why is SC on the bloggers' minds 2-months before the game?

"Why is sc on the bloggers minds?" I refer you the 3rd post or so by 'migueilto' about Ken Norton. From there you should be able to connect the dots!

I don't mind Davis talking.
