PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Does Pete have a vote?

Maybe the 2 coaches that have beaten us this year, Weis and Whittingham (I think thats the name of Utah's coach)

Look at the continued SC bias in these polls. SC drops down to 7 & 11 after getting beat at home by a 41 point underdog. Michigan went from 5 to completely out of the poll the first week after the loss to App State.........how does that make sense? Also, how does USA Today have SC ahead of Oregon?? Oregon barely loses to the number 2 team in the country while SC loses to (let me say this again) 41 POINT UNDERDOG Stanford at home!!!!! These polls are a complete joke...........

SC was 4-0 when they lost by 1 point to a Pac-10 team, while Michigan was 0-1 after the loss to a div. 1AA team; big difference there.

SC didn't look good against Idaho (at home) and struggled against a mediocre Washington team..........and let me repeat........they lost to Stanford, AT HOME, when they were a 41 POINT FAVORITE!!! This all adds up to a ranking lower that 7th no matter how you spin it. No way they should be higher than Oregon and I'd even say they shouldn't be ahead of a very good Missouri team.......... who was VERY impressive against Nebraska, beat Illinois as well and is undefeated.

The following is as close to reasonable as you'll ever find. The only BCS "computer" pollster with the gumption to put his math out there for all to see. enjoy.
