PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Luc on Porter

One of the symbolic plays of the second half came when UCLA's 6-foot-8 Luc Richard Mbah a Moute found himself guarding Oregon's 5-6 Tajuan Porter because of a defensive switch.
But Porter couldn't get past Mbah a Moute on one try, and then had the ball stolen from him when he tried to reset the offense near midcourt.
"I had him,'' Mbah a Moute said. "There was no way he was going to beat me. I knew it."

Hey Brian
If we win the next four games and win one game in the pac 10 tourney, do you think we would still have a number 1 seed? I hate the tourney and would rather have the team well rested before starting the ncaa tournament.

this was straight up beautiful. i saw luc get beat earlier and thought his foot may be still injured cuz his footwork was slow...but this D on porter was simply brilliant, his footwork was to die for, punch his ticket to the nba for that, awesome!

Luc did a great job swivelling his hips on that play. It was nice to see him so agile in spite of his ankle.

I like his first bucket of the game. A nice move after working for position down low.

GOOOOOOO BRUINS!
