PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

OSU's Jones, Carter to sit

Oregon State brings a 15-game losing streak to Pauley Pavilion, and now will be without second-leading scorer and rebounder Marcel Jones for tonight's game against No. 6 UCLA. Both were suspended for one game for their roles in a taunting incident with Washington last weekend.

I am not a gambler, but this might be one game the betters might want to zero in on. The line was set at 28. However, UCLA should continuously pull away in this game, even with its bench players, because even Oregon State's first team cannot keep up with them. Prediction-- Bruins by 36.

I'm not sure if Mouton has been named as HC or is just the interim HC, but he definitely deserves the HC job.
