Bonus answers, Part III
Here is the third and final set of answers from this week's bonus questions segment:
How are road roommates chosen for basketball? Can you list them all?
Most times it is done by friendship, or agreed upon by the players. I don’t know them all, so I can’t list them.
Who do you think will win tomorrow and what do you think the score will be? How do you see the game playing out?
I think UCLA will get out to an early lead because Collison will get to the basket and Xavier will need time to adjust to guarding Love. Xavier will stay in it because of 3-point shooting, but UCLA is used to grind-it-out games and will win 69-62.
As far as the x-factor, mine is Josh Shipp. I think he makes a few 3-pointers.
In your story titled "Sweet Escape for UCLA" about the UCLA/Texas A&M game there is a quote by Kevin Love that caught my Attention:
"Believe it or not, Ben doesn't like me to shoot fallaway jump shots"Not too often you hear a college kid call his coach by his first name. Do you ever get the sense that Kevin doesn't have the respect for Coach Howland that he should?
I don’t hear it that often either, but Love is a different type of kid. I do not think he meant it in a disrespectful way, because I know Love has tons of respect for Howland. Love is constantly talking about how much better he is playing defense because of Howland.
In the two games he's played in since his ankle injury, Luc has turned the ball over a lot. Whether he is traveling, throwing weak passes or getting the ball stripped do you think he should sit out?
No, I think he should keep playing because he still brings other things to the game, subtle things like keeping rebounds alive by tipping them, or rotating over on defense. His timing is all messed up and he’s playing in a lot of pain, but his experience is invaluable, and there is no better option. I’m not ready to anoint Keefe the next great power forward at UCLA because he grabbed a few offensive rebounds and scored in transition against a Western Kentucky team that was vastly outmatched on the boards.
