Doubts crept in

It turns out UCLA did have some doubts about its status as one of the top teams in the country when it barely beat Stanford and Cal to finish the regular seasn last week. The Bruins beat both teams in the Pac-10 Tournament, however.
``There were doubts,'' Lorenzo Mata-Real said. ``We wanted to prove that we were the ones that deserved to win those games and not because of some controversial call.''
