Ending the Roll debate

| | Comments (1) |

UCLA coach Ben Howland has stopped short of saying wing Michael Roll will definitely red-shirt, and I know it's been asked a few times on the blog, so I spoke with Roll after today's shootaround and asked him what had to happen for him to play in the NCAA Tournament.
"No scenario,'' he said. "I'm not playing."

There's this small voice inside of me that is hoping that this is all a ruse - that Howland's closed door practices have included an amazingly recovered Michael Roll who will slip into a game unexpectedly in the elite 8 and rain down 7 3-pointers.

...and then there's the sane part of me that realizes his career is eerily similar to Ben Olsen's career.
