Hold the Mayo

Here is the game story I wrote from UCLA's win against USC.
On O.J. Mayo's 3-point attempt to tie the game at the buzzer, Josh Shipp was guarding USC's leading scorer after a switch with Russell Westbrook. The Trojans got the ball with 23.9 seconds remaining and trailing by three points, but decided the best thing to do was have Mayo dribble the clock down, then attempt a final shot.
"I definitely thought he was going to go a lot sooner, but they didn't have a second chance to get a shot off because of that," Shipp said. "It was definitely surprising."
