Howland on all-Pac-10
UCLA coach Ben Howland said he was thrilled about Kevin Love being named the Pac-10's player of the year and freshman of the year, and also Russell Westbrook being named the defensive player of the year.
However, Howland was not pleased point guard Darren Collison was left off the first team.
"My only disappointment is I think Darren Collison definitely deserves to be on the first team,'' said Howland, noting Collison leads the Pac-10 in free throwing shooting and steal and is second in 3-point field goal percentage.
Collison should def be 1st team.
any updates about moute's ankle and westbrook's too? or any other various updates that do not pertain to H-O-R shots, bad calls, lute olsen, the date and time of Las Vegas bowl, etc...
PS - has the International Bowl announced next year's game time and date so you can schedule your vacation accordingly? Dress warm and don't forget your passport. Toronto is a beautiful city.
Pac 10 player of the year should have been Ryan Anderson from Cal.
If voting as a most valuable, it should have been Darren Collison.
Um, no.
Choose Collison and either Harden or O.J. is left off the first team guard position. Tough choice.
But the coaches did the voting, and I trust them more than sportswriters or fans.
Collison over both. OJ over Harden.
PLH55, POY is for the player that brings the best to a team and elevates it to another level. I respect Ryan Anderson but he did nothing to lift Cal beyond mediocrity while Kevin is the link to all things related to a NC run for the Bruins. I'm surprised you didn't want Davon, the 21 year old "freshman" for FOY.
So how did Kevin Love "lift you?" You won the Pac last year and you won it this year.
As I see, you have to win the championship game to raise anything over the past two years.
KL did what he was supposed to do, give UCLA inside scoring and open up the outside shooting..except for DC did not materialize.
