Love bites
Kevin Love blocked a career-high seven shots. The original stat sheet had Love with eight, but that's because he was incorrectly given credit for the last-second blocked shot against Donald Sloan. That was changed to give Josh Shipp credit for block.

His so-called defensive weakness has been over-stated. He is an excellent defensive rebounder (seriously who has been better the past 30 years or so?), gets good defensive positioning, and just plays smart. He doesn't make many stupid fouls or gamble which would end him up on the bench in foul-trouble where he is obviously of no help to us. I'm just enjoying watching this once-in-a-lifetime type of player for hopefully four more games.
Next year without Love and Collison, this team is middle of the Pac 10, assuming the freshman are terrific!!
Jrue, the Gatorade NPOY, will fill in just fine for DC.
Love will be much more difficult to replace. That will have to occur by committee.
Brian or Jill - Love and Shipp combined had 8 blocks last night. Haven't seen the stat sheet but I thought Luc blocked several as well. We blocked 13 Thursday night. What is the Ncaa tournament record for blocks in back to back games and where do we stand on that?
Update - Ucla was credited with 11 blocks last night. Total for two games is 24. Single game record for blocks in the tournament is 14. Our 24 in two games HAS to be at least close to the all time Ncaa record. Is it tops? thanks
