Love on the win
Sure, UCLA is happy with the victory, but the Bruins aren't happy with their second-half performance in which they let the Hilltoppers back in the game.
``I wasn’t as happy as you think,'' Kevin Love said on CBS. ``We made some mistakes that are unacceptable. We’ve gotta get real serious on Saturday.’’

I do think the team got a bit cocky with the 21 point lead, thinking that this was MVS or even ASU. The 'toppers have 3 seniors who know how to shoot and play so it's not surprising that they made the runs that they did. Tack on sloppy ball handling and the foul trouble and a blow out became a close game. The win is what counts but Xavier is a lot tougher on many levels that WKY.
I think we struggled in the second half for a couple of reasons:
1) The foul trouble made our guards lay off on defense, allowing the W. Kentucky guards more points
2) We slowed down against the press, which is exactly the opposite of what you want to do. I think we needed to move the ball quicker and not get caught not moving so much.
3) I think we just made some mistakes from being fatigued. The team looks tired.
I think we won't get officiating this bad again, and I think everyone else is tired too, so my guess is our performance gets better next game.
GREAT WIN...If I here anymore on this blog about how UCLA is getting all the calls..........well enough said....
Love's attitude is exactly what I want to hear from the whole team. This guy knows how to compete. He was not satisfied with the win, he is focused on what they need to do better, so they can survive in the tournament.
