Relying on Luc

UCLA junior power forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute recorded double-doubles in wins against Stanford and Cal last week, and Bruins big man Kevin Love spoke about Mbah a Moute's resurgence since getting back from a concussion and an ankle injury.
"I think he's a lot more motivated,'' Love said. "Coming to crunch time -- it's sad to say, but sometimes people step up their game even more rather than doing it the whole season. But I',m not calling him out at all because of the fact that now he's 100 percent healthy. His girlfriend was here, too, so I think that gave him a little bit more incentive. He's stepping up right now."
So what makes Mbah a Moute such a good rebounder?
"He never gives up,'' Love said. "He's 6-7, 6-8. He's really long. He's really athletic. He just goes after them. He's really aggressive."
But is he better than Love?
"No, I don't think he's better than me at rebounding,'' Love said with a smile. "I'm big and wide and have a little bit extra size on him, but he does a lot of stuff out there."
