Shipp on the photo
Josh Shipp was smiling the whole time he was asked about the photos that show his hand grabbing the arm of Texas A&M guard Donald Sloan with three seconds left in UCLA's win. No foul was called. Shipp had contended that he made a clean block. When first asked about it, Shipp said: ``Yeah, what about it? It doesn't matter. Photos are illusions.''
Asked if he thought he fouled Sloan after viewing the photo, he said:
``I don't care about the photo. The game's over.''

I'm disappointed in Shipp's attitude and lack of leadership. He seems to be the total opposite of Afflalo. Though he's done a better job of getting the ball into the post as the season has progressed, he still has not come through in clutch situations on a consistent basis like Collison or Love. I hope he proves me wrong going forward.
What's the purpose of belaboring a point that has been discussed ad nauseum? The refs didn't see enough to blow the whistle. The game is over. UCLA won. Accept it and move on.
Isn't it possible that Shipp blocked the shot and as his arm came down he incidentally grabbed the arm? I haven't seen video to that effect, but when watching the game, it looked like he initially blocked the shot.
What was that, Saturday?
Get over it Jill, and ask Brian to do the same.
Actually jbruin,,,Shipp's arm couldn't have come DOWN if the ball flicked backed 4'.
I think everyone should take a look at the VIDEO once again instead of jumping on the still photo. If a player comes down on a shooter's arm the ball will not flick BACK 4'. Shipp was following his man, turned and flicked at the ball and sent the ball back 4'.
The block gave all the appearances of a clean one and THAT is why nothing was called. There was no thud, no slam on the arm,,,,just a simple flick at the ball and the ball popped back 4',,,simple as that.
Just because it appears Shipp's hand was holding Sloan's arm, it doesn't MEAN it was HOLDING Sloan's arm!!! Doesn't anybody understand that? Doesn't anybody understand that this is a STILL PHOTO, ie. a photo of a millisecond of an iota of an instant.
And the tammy bench saw the play and did NOTHING. No screaming, no crying foul, no nothing. And Sloan wasn't saying anything either while he was on the floor!!! He was absolutely positively VAGUE as to what went down, later in the post game interviews.
geeez. People have lost all sense of reason over this PHOTO,,,and while fans everywhere are screaming over this, if the media is going to perpetuate this nonsense by bringing it up over and over again, then I submit it is also their responsibility to either let it go, or re-examine the nuances of such a play. And once they do that, then go over the "strong foul" principle once again.
I feel ALL the media folk are not doing their journalistic best in this matter. They are resorting to "page six" journalism by keeping this alive. THE GAME IS OVER FOLKS!!!!!!!
Lighten up everyone. All of you know, if the roles were reversed, we'd be blabbering how we got hosed for months.
Jill/Brian, maybe you should just report on the scores and stats, that way you won't offend the sensitive souls.
Go Bruins!
Wish he'd just man up and admit he got away with one; it was a foul...
