PROFILE

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Shipp on shooting slump

Josh Shipp has struggled with his shooting touch, but he said he hasn't lost his confidence.
``You’ve just got to keep shooting the ball,’’ Shipp said. ``Eventually they have to go in. You can’t be a good shooter and not have the shots fall down. You’ve got to just keep shooting the ball.’’

I think he should stick to his midrange game. I like how he was more opportunistic in crunch time, collecting that offensive board and putting it back in. He used to drive to the hoop and hit bank shots. He needs to get in a groove with higher percentage shots rather than relying on three pointers. You know you're losing your touch when you air the ball and he seems to have one of those each game.

Maybe you are not a good shooter.

PLH: The time stamps of your various posts indicate that you basically spend ALL DAY lurking on these mesage boards.

That is really awesome. Your dedication to your troll-craft is to be applauded.
