Travel time
UCLA will practice on campus today and make the short flight to Phoenix tonight. Meanwhile, Western Kentucky left campus earlier today for its flight to Phoenix, and I'm hearing one thing the Hilltoppers aren't thrilled about is the schedule.
UCLA played Saturday, less than 60 miles from its campus, while the Hilltoppers played Sunday in Tampa, Fla., then traveled back to Bowling Green, Ky., after the game and arrived late at night. After having Monday off, Western Kentucky was set to travel across the country today.

Thats the luxury that UCLA earned throughout the season for being one of the best teams in the country. If W Kentucky had done that then they would have nearly the same situation. And who said that life was fair?
I get a real kick about these teams that complain about UCLA getting "homecourt advantage" like it's UCLA's fault the NCAA changed the tournament schedule to include the "pod" system. You know what, it really IS UCLA's fault for being the #1 seed in the west, which just so happens to be where UCLA is located. Shame on us, maybe we should have petitioned the NCAA to play our game in Western KY's gym just to be fair. UCLA would still be favored to win even if it was played in the faculty parking lot on Western KY's campus.
I guarantee that if Western KY was the #1 seed and got to play their games in Lexington they wouldn't be whining so much.
Didn't we used to be traveling just like them in the past?
Maybe we should offer to take a bus from Westwood leaving at midnight tonight and driving all night through the desert, through Barstow and such, all the way to PHX just to make it even.
If UCLA drives through Barstow to get to Phoenix then they need to fire their bus driver!
