This is GREAT news!!!! I was hoping that we have a veteran run the backcourt so that the incoming class can trust a proven leader on the court. Hopefully, there will be no more surprises during the off-season (unless they are good ones, of course).

awesome. it's the right decision, too... his stock was dropping near the end of the year.

Brian- I'll start off by saying that I love your blog and I think you're doing an awesome job........but you goofed. You said Collison and Love were both gone. You were only half right. I thought you only state facts on this website?

TheBarsh,

That was my opinion, and I gave it because I was asked. As far as saying I expected Collison to leave, Collison said as of a week ago, he was leaving, and he changed his mind.

Until last week I thought the starting backcourt would be Westbrook and Holiday, now it looks as though it will Collison and Holiday, wow big difference. Now if Josh would just make up his darn mind, and Frank Ben Eze decides to come!

When it's all said and done, I think Collison is going to leave the kind of legacy at UCLA that Love thinks HE left (after 1 year, sure). There's something pure (and some might say stupid) about a player projected to go in the 1st round deciding to come back. Sure, Collison was lousy against WKU and Memphis, and maybe that affected his decision, but even with those bad games, he was STILL a projected 1st rounder. Mad props to Darren!

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
