Hoops update
UCLA held its weekly media gathering today, and there really wasn't much new (or news) coming out of it, other than coach Ben Howland saying reserve big man Alfred Aboya had a "knot" in his back after putting together furniture from IKEA for three hours.
Aboya, evidently, wasn't able to do all his weight lifting and cardio work Monday because of it, but later said he was fine.
In discussing Memphis, Howland said "In my opinion, they're much better than the last time we played them,"
That last time was in the 2006 West regional final, which UCLA won.
Also, in describing the Tigers, nearly every Bruin I asked used the word "athleticism."

Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
