Larry Brown, the former UCLA coach, is coaching in the NBA...again. He was hired today to coach the Charlotte Bobcats, the ninth NBA coaching gig. What do you guys think? Good fit? Will he finally retire here?
Seems like more of a favor to MJ than anything. I give it two years before Larry burns out or his players tune him out.

Last summer, I thought Larry should have replaced Phil Jackson on the Lakers. It's amazing how a couple of trades can change the fortunes of an NBA franchise. But Brown should follow his modus operandi in Charlotte: Year 1 - vast improvement, eke into #8 seed in East. Year 2 - respectable run in playoffs, win first round, lost valiantly in Conference semifinals.
Year 3 - Implosion...

About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
