There was a proclamation of the U.S. entering WWII when Japan mistakenly bombed Pearl Harbor...And there was an Emancipation Proclamation...Love's announcement that he is abandoning ucla after one-year for NBA millions does not qualify as a 'proclamation.' Does anybody really need a formal announcement. Spare me.

Let me write Love's speech for tomorrow:
"The 8-months I spent at ucla were the best 8-months of my life. I really loved the ucla college experience. It has changed me forever. Sorry I am abandoning my alma mater, but, you know, money talks and every thing else walks. Good luck to all my bruin brethren."

Wow!! Thanks for the breaking news!! Like I said right after Farmar and Afflalo left....Good Luck and Good Riddance! Thanks for stopping by and most of all, thanks for bringing UCLA another Championship....oh yeah, sorry that must of been a dream!! But I guess no one is surprised, but why all the drama and suspense from the get go, we all knew they were leaving. What kills me is the constant "oh...I haven't made up my mind....I'm talking it over w/ my family, it's a hard decision, blah, blah, blah!!! Maybe the next group of guys coming in will actually accomplish what the others said they had come to UCLA to do, and that was bring home a Championship!! Good Bye Love and whoever else follows and HELLO J. Holiday, D. Gordon and Co.

Japan realized it was a mistake to "diss" the U.S. with the Pearl Harbor bombing when the US got "even" by leveling two of Japans's cities with A-bombs. I would say the U.S. got the better of the "deal," wouldn't you? Of course, America will pay the price down the road when our cities start being A-bombed by terrorists. Rest in Peace.

I read it. I sure wish journalists would name their sources so readers could decide for themselves how strong a story is. Love probably will declare, but I'm not into believing anonymous sources so seeing will be believing tomorrow.

UCLA would have been better off washing out in the first round so not as many people would have seen that out-of-shape loser embarrass the program on a national stage.

First the school needs to put a foot down and refuses to accept the obvious one-and-out players. Then replace the half-wit coach and maybe they can shake the loser bridesmaid tag that's been adopted the last few years.

It's going to suck to have to watch the basketball program sink into the mediocre-at-best hole the football program seems to have embraced.

Wow...look at all these SUC trolls. Since when did this become an SC blog?

Best of luck Kevin. Thanks for giving us all you had on the court, even if it was for one year.

er...Brian, a minor typo in the story... "He averaged 19.8 points and 19.6 rebounds in five NCAA Tournament games." guess what the typo is

It would be a hoot if KL called the news conference to announce he's coming back and his family has an insurance policy on him a la Leinart

SBBruin, you're right, there are some lame $C henchmen posting on this page

Either we've been invaded by SUCsters posing as Bruin fans or there are just some Bruin fans out there who I'd never want to meet.

As if Kevin Love should be beholding to any UCLA fans....as if he is doing something wrong.

Get over yourselves.

Good luck to K Love.

For all you sour-grapers who are either USC trolls or really crazy UCLA Bruins, if KL stays at UCLA next year and breaks his leg, how many of you would be willing to pay for his forgone NBA salary?

C'mon, pay up or shut up. Or is money a bad thing unless it happens to be yours?

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
